On Saturday around 3 p.m. there is an award ceremony.
One of the most difficult aspects of the competition is judging. How do the organizers determine the best sculptures among all the many different designs and styles? What is the most fair criteria?
We've determined there is no absolute best way. Therefore we turn the judging over to the public. The spectators are given ballots. These are then entered into a computer and tallied.
As a voter, use the following criteria as a guide.
Overall impact, creativity, detail, execution, style, proportion, form, symmetry, technique, use of light and shadow, believability of design, rhythm, balance, flow, and adherence to original design.
Awards are presented as follows.
First place team- A set of three trophies and $1,500.00 Second Place Team- A set of three trophies and $1,000.00 Third Place Team- A set of three trophies and $500.00
Good luck to everyone!
High School teams are presented with certificates of participation.
