Travel

We will provide ground transportation from O'Hare airport to Navy Pier.

Visa's and Passports

Please make arrangements to acquire the proper visas and passports to enter the United States several months in advance.

• Start the Visa process immediately after you have been accepted in the competition in November.
• It may be easiest to obtain a Visitor Visa.
• Consider applying for a 0-1 visa. It is for people with extraordinary ability in the arts or education. Only apply for this visa if you have competed in several recognized snow sculpture competitions.
• Demonstrate strong ties to your country. It’s different in each country but examples are: a job, a house, a family, long-range plans, and a bank account.
• Demonstrate the financial means to buy a return ticket from the United States back to your home country.
• Demonstrate your qualifications for being invited to the snow Sculpture Competition. For example, specify any awards or or past snow competitions. Awards and competitions in mediums other than snow are also helpful to explain to the consulate.
• If requested we can write a letter. However it is your responsibility to prove you should receive a visa from your consulate based on your circumstances.
